Energy Assistance

Through a partnership with We Energies, the Milwaukee County Human Services Department, and the Social Development Commission, HAFA provides energy assistance and weatherization program to low-income families to help pay a portion of their energy bill. This is a one-time benefit program that runs from October 1 through May 15. The amount of the benefit awarded is determined by household size, income, and annual energy usage. This neighborhood-based program served a diverse group of people who were provided information about applying for energy assistance, assisted in accessing emergency funds, and enrolled in weatherization programs.
